How do I create a financial report?

Financial reports give you as a business owner a good idea of where your business stands financially, and help you when you are trying to get loans, or attract investors.

Here’s how to create a financial report:

  1. Sign in to ZipBooks and click on Reports at the top of your screen. 
  2. Click on the type of report you want to generate from five different categories, or use these links:
    1. How do I create a balance sheet?
    2. How do I create an income statement?
    3. How do I create an expense report?
  3. After you’ve chosen a report type, choose a Quick Report from the box at the bottom left of your screen, or create a custom report. Choose start and end dates, what you’d like the columns to show, accrual or cash basis and whether to show or hide Totals. You can even add a Tag to see only information with that specific tag.

ZipBooks quick reports allow you to simply choose the type of report you’d like (balance sheet, income statement, etc.), and then click on the time you need it to reflect (as of today, last year, etc.), so you can get your information in a snap.

To save or print, right click on your report and choose Save as, or Print from the list that appears, or click the Export link at the top right corner of your screen to save as a CSV in Excel
