My hair color and health was ruined by a former stylist with over 20 years experience.
I did hours of research to find a colorist who could help correct the orangish color and poor condition of my hair.
I went twice to a very reputable and extremely high priced salon hoping for help. While the owner did make some improvements to my hair, I was told it would take a very long time for total recovery.
I have always prided myself on the health of my hair and I have been traumatized about my hairs color and condition for almost a year now.
I had an interview coming up and was not fully satisfied with the new colorist, so I again began my lengthy research to find a colorist to help get the gray around my face touched up. I admittedly didn’t have high expectations, I just didn’t want to go to my interview looking as though I didn’t keep my appearance professional as my hair was blonde, graying and still carried an orange hue.
I found Katherine Griffin’s webpage and while she is much younger and has been in the business a significantly shorter amount of time than the others, her biography resonated with me.
So, I called her and she returned my call immediately. She listened to my story and fit me in before my interview which was only a couple days away.
I will admit, I was unsure and knew I was taking a big risk going to someone I knew nothing about but the empathy she exuded over the phone and I liked what she wrote in her biography!
Katherine was equally kind in person, didn’t take offense as I worked on my laptop getting out an urgent and unexpected letter and she quietly went to work after a brief consultation, clarifying the colors I liked of the pictures she kindly sent the day I called.
She worked efficiently without jeopardizing the care she took with my frazzled locks.
To make a long story longer, I walked out of her salon with my healthy hair back and beautifully colored!
When I arrived home, my 19 year old daughter who has known how devastated I’ve been said, “Oh my God, what did she do?” She walked over and touched it and said, “it’s so soft! You look like an Angel! How did she make it long again?!?!?!”
I believe that with my daughter’s words as well as her inability to stop touching my hair speaks to the inherent gift that Katherine has in her chosen profession and aren’t we all so fortunate that is the profession she chose!
