I hired Banyan Tree to remove my crab grass back garden & create my English garden - no lawn, just gravel pathways, edged with lavender and several large flower beds for roses, fragrant plants & trees, with 2 raised beds for veggies as well. The men who actually did the work were very pleasant & easy to work with, except the guy that built the north fence. He did a good job, however. In removing the crab grass, however, workers created/dug out a concave center to my garden in which water sat most of the year & in winter turned into an ice rink. Most of the lavender died, as well as some other plants. I complained to Banyan, and the replaced the lavenders & were supposed to have leveled off the gardens, but the same thing happened the next winter...sopping wet, standing water, iced over in the freezing weather. I told Andrew, the owner, I wanted it permanently fixed & he came up with a plan involving a sump pump at a cost of over $4,000. Having already paid much much more than that (over $20,000) I wasn't about to throw good money after bad, got several other quote & ideas & chose Regenesis who put passive draining tubes into the soil all across the garden so that the water drains to the street in front of my house, and built up the pathways & soil in the center of the garden. I asked Andrew for a refund to cover some of the cost of Regenesis. He refused & claimed the garden had always had a large dip in the center. Photographs from when I bought the house show that was a lie. I should have sued him - he didn't even provide a contract as the law requires him to do - but I just didn't have the energy to fight him! Just beware... demand a contract & monitor everything! Frankly, I'd use any other company - Regenesis did a good job.
