If you tell customers that they’re going to get a certain discount on their purchase, odds are, they’re going to want to see it in writing. With ZipBooks, you can apply a discount to individual line items or to the invoice as a whole.
Here’s how to apply a discount to individual items:
Log in to ZipBooks and go to Invoices
Create a new invoice or select an existing invoice and click Edit
Find the Item that you’d like to add a discount to and click on the Gear icon on the right side of the line.
Under Discount %, and type in the discount amount that you’d like to apply to that item.
Click the blue Done button.
Repeat for any other items you’d like to apply a discount to.
And you’re finished! ZipBooks will automatically calculate your discount and it will appear at the bottom of your invoice. Under Subtotal, you’ll see “Discount: (% varies)”.
If you’d like to apply a discount to the entire invoice, you don’t need to edit each item individually.
Here’s how to apply a discount to the entire invoice:
Log in to ZipBooks and go to Invoices
Create a new invoice or select an existing invoice and click Edit
Under Subtotal, type a percentage into the yellow Discount field.
That’s it! The discount will automatically be subtracted from the entire invoice.
